In late 2023, the Palestine and Israel conflict reached a historic peak of bellicosity that captured global attention, drawing scrutiny from world leaders, the Western press, and civilians in dozens of countries. Once again, both nations held against each other violently on—and off—the battlefield. However, unlike previous instances, the eyes of millions were fixed on the unfolding events.
With Gaza at its epicentre, the reciprocal aggressions of Hamas and Israel led to a massive reaction from numerous civil groups, urging people to participate in street protests. And so it happened.
This call resonated in Vancouver (British Columbia), where organizations like the Canada Palestine Association and the Palestinian Youth Movement have coordinated rallies that've counted with the presence of hundreds of supporters. "End the siege on Gaza," "End the military aid to Israel," and "Free Palestine" are some of the rallying calls that can be heard during these manifestations.
